Honey

I live with a couple in my church, and I've lived with them off and on over the last five or six years. And as long as I've known them, they've had one of the best dogs I've ever known. Honey is a yellow lab and former drug-sniffing dog. She has been one of the most loving, protective, and special dogs you would ever meet.

Over the last year, she had developed arthritis, and it had gotten worse over time. In the last couple of days, she had begun to not be able to go outside. Last night, Tom and Debbie made the decision that it was time to put her down, and the vet agreed. Normally, this vet tries to keep the pets alive, but in cases of spinal arthritis, there's not much left to do. Today, me and Tom and Tommy and Dan buried Honey in the pouring rain. She was a good girl, and the house is already not the same without her.

Good girl, Honey.
